Police Catch 16-Year-Old Over the Drink Drive Limit on Moped in Bodmin
Police Catch 16-Year-Old Over the Limit on Moped
A 16-year-old has been arrested for drink driving in Bodmin after failing a roadside breath test. Just after midnight on Saturday, officers from the local Road Traffic team noticed a moped driving erratically as it headed towards Midway Road from the town centre.
Upon stopping the vehicle, police conducted a breathalyser test, with the driver blowing 66 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit for drivers in the UK is 35 micrograms. As a result, the teenager was arrested and charged, and will be attending court in the near future.
Police Appeal for Public Help
The police have urged the public to report any suspicious driving behaviour. If you suspect someone is driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you’re encouraged to call 999 immediately with details of the vehicle and its direction of travel. For non-urgent matters or to report someone regularly driving under the influence, you can contact the police via their website or call 101.
Drink driving remains a serious offence, and police continue to work towards reducing the number of incidents on Cornwall’s roads.
