Police urge St Cleer residents to check gardens and outbuildings

The search for missing 79-year-old Anne Stacey from St Cleer continues, with police releasing a new image to assist in locating her. The image, taken from CCTV at Morrisons in Liskeard on 25th September, is the latest development as efforts to find Anne intensify.

Last Known Movements

Anne was last in contact with family and friends on Friday 27th September at her home. Since then, her whereabouts have been unknown. Described as a white female, 5ft 3ins tall, with grey hair in a long bob, Anne uses two walking sticks and may have been wearing blue crocs at the time she disappeared.

The police have launched a major operation to find Anne, involving specially trained officers and Search and Rescue volunteers. Over the past few days, teams have been conducting extensive house-to-house visits, large-scale searches, and reviewing CCTV footage. A number of potential sightings have been reported, but none have been confirmed so far.

Search Efforts

The search has also seen the involvement of the East Cornwall Search and Rescue Team. Volunteers from the team have been working tirelessly alongside police and neighbouring Mountain Rescue Teams from West Cornwall and Plymouth. The search has spanned local villages, countryside, and moorland areas.

In a recent update, East Cornwall Search and Rescue Team confirmed that their volunteers have been assisting since Friday morning, deploying searchers, water teams, and search dogs. Their efforts have been supported by local organisations, including the Lions Club of Liskeard and the Rapid Relief Team, who have been providing refreshments to searchers.

Public Appeal

Police continue to appeal for help from the public. Residents in St Cleer are urged to check their gardens, sheds, and outbuildings, as well as any doorbell or dashcam footage that may offer clues to Anne’s whereabouts.

If you see Anne or know of her whereabouts, please contact the police immediately on 999, quoting log 817 of 3 October.

As the search for Anne continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward, reminding the public that no detail is too small in the effort to bring her home safely.
