Major Collision on Tram Road: Motorcyclist Seriously Injured

Serious RTC Shuts Down Porthtowan Road

On Sunday, 2nd June 2024, a serious road traffic collision (RTC) involving a motorcycle and a motorhome occurred on Tram Road, Cambrose, Porthtowan. Devon and Cornwall Police are currently appealing for witnesses and information to assist in their investigation.

Incident Details

The collision was reported to police around 12:23 pm. The motorcyclist, a local male in his 70s, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital for emergency treatment. The driver of the motorhome is cooperating with police enquiries.

Road Closure and Investigation

Following the incident, Tram Road was closed to allow a thorough investigation by officers from the Roads Policing Team. The police have expressed gratitude to the public for their patience during the road closure.

Call for Witnesses

Devon and Cornwall Police are urging anyone with relevant information or dash-cam footage to come forward. Those who can assist in the investigation are asked to contact police via their website or by calling 101, quoting log reference 379 020624.
