Late-Night Assault at Launceston Asda: Police Appeal for Witnesses
In a troubling incident, Devon and Cornwall Police are urgently appealing for information and witnesses following an assault that took place at the Asda petrol station in Launceston. The incident occurred late at night on 2nd July at approximately 11:40pm, resulting in two men sustaining injuries.
Details of the Assault
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that one of the victims had suffered a stab wound to his back. Fortunately, the injury is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Both victims were also reported to have been punched, leading to facial injuries.
Arrest and Suspect Description
In connection with the assault, a 20-year-old man from Launceston has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The individual is currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
Police are actively searching for another suspect described as a white male with light brown or blond hair. At the time of the assault, he was believed to be wearing dark clothing and trainers.
Appeal for Information
Devon and Cornwall Police are urging anyone with information that could assist in their investigation to come forward. Individuals who may have witnessed the incident or have any relevant details are asked to contact the police on 101, quoting log 1005 of 2 July 2024.
