Farewell to Clive Wherry: Longstanding PCSO Retires After 33 Years in Policing
PCSO Clive Wherry is hanging up his uniform after an impressive 33 years of service with Devon and Cornwall Police. Starting his career as a traffic warden in Newquay, Clive adapted to changes in the role when parking enforcement shifted to the local authority. He transitioned seamlessly, taking on a new role as a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO).
A Familiar Face in the Community
As a local man through and through, Clive’s deep connection to the community and extensive knowledge of the area have made him an irreplaceable member of the Bodmin and Wadebridge neighbourhood policing team. Known for his friendly demeanour and willingness to lend an ear, Clive has built strong relationships with residents across the Wadebridge area.
His approachable and cheery nature, combined with his professional advice, has left a lasting impression on many. It’s clear from the Bodmin Police team’s message that Clive’s presence will be deeply missed both by colleagues and the wider community.
Time to Relax
For those who know Clive, it’s no secret that he enjoys the simple pleasures in life—especially a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit. Retirement offers the perfect opportunity to indulge in these well-earned comforts.
Bodmin Police extended their heartfelt thanks to Clive, saying: “Thank you for all your hard work – enjoy retirement Clive!!”
