Child Seriously Injured in Bude Collision Involving Motorhome and Car

An eight-year-old boy in hospital following a serious road traffic collision in Bude on Saturday, 3rd August.

Incident Details

Police were alerted to a collision involving a motorhome, a Ford Fiesta, and a child pedestrian at approximately 5.15pm on Saturday. The incident occurred in Penfound Gardens, Bude, and has left an eight-year-old boy with serious injuries.

Following the collision, the boy was airlifted to Bristol Children’s Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Arrest Made at the Scene

A 68-year-old woman from Launceston was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving. She has since been released under investigation while further inquiries are conducted.

Road Closures and Police Appeal

The road in Penfound Gardens was temporarily closed while officers from the Roads Policing Team carried out a thorough investigation. The police have expressed their gratitude to the public for their patience and cooperation during the road closure.

Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with relevant information or dash-cam footage to come forward.
