Car Crashes into House in Penryn: Man Arrested for Suspected Drink Driving

Road Closed and Properties Evacuated after Incident on Helston Road

A vehicle collided with a house on Helston Road in Penryn at around 8:55 am on Friday, 20th September, according to a Facebook post by Devon & Cornwall Police.

The fire service was called to the scene, and a road closure was put in place while they attended to the incident. Gas services were also present, working alongside fire crews to secure a gas leak that resulted from the collision. As a precaution, a small number of nearby properties were evacuated.

Electricity Services to Attend

The road will remain closed while electricity services attend to ensure the area is safe. Residents are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Man Arrested on Suspicion of Drink Driving

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving in connection with the incident.

Devon & Cornwall Police thanked local residents for their cooperation and patience during the disruption.
