Appeal for Information After Concerns for Welfare of Man and Two Children in East Cornwall
Police search continues after black Nissan Qashqai last seen in Kilkhampton
Police are urgently appealing for information following concerns for the welfare of a man and two children travelling in a black Nissan Qashqai.
The vehicle, registration KP13 GZJ, was last seen at around 7pm on Tuesday 20th May in Kilkhampton, with earlier sightings reported in Calstock, Lifton, and the Bude area earlier in the day.
Concern raised on Tuesday afternoon
Police received a report at around 3.30pm raising concerns for the welfare of the vehicle’s occupants, who are believed to have travelled from outside the Devon and Cornwall force area.
An emergency response was launched with support from the police helicopter. The search remains ongoing.
Do not approach the vehicle
Anyone who spots the black Nissan Qashqai is asked not to approach it, but to call 999 immediately, quoting log 487 20/05/25.
Police continue to urge the public to report any sightings or information that may help their enquiries.
Police Update – Located | Concern for welfare
Following our appeal and an extensive policing operation to locate a black Nissan Qashqai and its occupants, it has now been located.
The occupants, who are known to each other, have been found safe by police in North Devon.
Two of the occupants, both children, have been safeguarded with their family who will receive on going police support.
We would like to thank members of the public for their help.
A 37-year-old man, from West Yorkshire, has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction.
The Senior Investigating Officer who led the investigation, DCI Steve Fleetwood would like to personally thank the public for their positive reaction to the initial media appeal for sightings, all of which assisted in bringing this incident to a safe resolution.
