19-Year-Old Passenger Dies in Collision Between St Tudy and St Breward

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Cornwall on Friday 1st November. The incident occurred at around 11.15pm at a crossroads between St Tudy and St Breward near the B3266, involving two black Seat Ibizas.

Emergency Services at the Scene

Officers were called to the scene, supported by ambulance and fire services. Tragically, a 19-year-old man who was a front seat passenger in one of the cars was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. Six other individuals involved in the crash were taken to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.

Arrest Made in Connection with the Collision

An 18-year-old man from Bodmin has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by careless driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs. He has been released on bail while further investigations continue.

Road Closure and Appeal for Witnesses

The road was closed as officers from the Roads Policing Team conducted an investigation, reopening at around noon on Saturday 2nd November. Police have expressed their gratitude to the public for their patience during the closure.

Officers are now urging anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward. Those who have not yet spoken to the police can contact them via their website or call 101, quoting reference number 50240277870.

This remains an ongoing investigation, and police continue to appeal for information to assist in their enquiries.
