Firefighters Undergo Essential Training at Crantock Beach

Two days ago, Green Watch from Newquay Community Fire Station conducted vital 4×4 driver training on Crantock Beach. The session, aimed at improving response times to incidents on the beach’s hazardous dunes, included practising techniques for freeing stuck vehicles and navigating the sandy terrain.

Preparing for Quicker Response

The firefighters’ training focused on ensuring they can quickly and efficiently respond to emergencies on the dangerous dunes currently present on Crantock Beach. By mastering the challenges of driving on sand and learning how to dig out vehicles, the team aims to be better prepared for potential incidents in the area.

Safety Warning for Residents and Visitors

Newquay Community Fire Station has issued a strong advisory for residents and visitors to avoid the hazardous dunes and to stick to dedicated pathways for their safety. The training underscores the importance of being prepared for emergencies while also emphasising the need for public awareness and caution.

Stay Safe and Informed

The fire station’s message to the community is clear: stay safe by steering clear of the dunes and using designated pathways. The proactive training by Green Watch highlights their commitment to ensuring public safety and preparedness for any beach-related incidents.
