Bowgie Inn’s Ale & Cider Festival Returns This August to Raise Funds for Cornwall Hospice Care
Live music, gin tasting and silent disco planned for Bowgie’s biggest event yet
Bowgie Inn in Crantock is gearing up for its biggest Ale & Cider Festival to date, promising a jam-packed bank holiday weekend filled with music, drinks, food and family fun.
Taking place from Friday 22nd to Monday 25th August, the four-day event will feature live entertainment, tasting sessions, garden games, and a silent disco, with all proceeds and bar takings going directly to Cornwall Hospice Care.
Raising the Bar for a Good Cause
Last year, the festival raised £6,509.11 for Cornwall Hospice Care, and this summer the team hopes to beat that total.
“Last summer, our amazing community helped raise over £6,509.11 for Cornwall Hospice Care. Every drop, sip and singalong helped make that possible – and this year we’re hoping to raise even more!” said Sally Pickles, Owner and Landlord at Bowgie Inn. “All proceeds plus all bar takings will be donated directly to the cause.”
Sally added: “This year’s festival drinks list is all about celebrating the South West’s incredible breweries, cider makers and distillers. From refreshing pints to perfectly poured G&Ts, there’ll be something for everyone!”

Four Days of Ale, Music and Seaside Views
The programme kicks off on Friday 22nd August with a Silent Disco, Tarquin’s Gin/Jolly’s tasting sessions, and a performance from the Newquay Rowing Club Singers.
Saturday 23rd features Acapella Sound, Lauren Bailey, Cider Tasting, Anton and Penny, Avalon and DJ Robo.
On Sunday 24th, visitors can enjoy live music from Black Velvet and The Claze, followed by a fireworks display.
The final day, Monday 25th August, wraps up with Indian Queens Brass Band, Rhys ‘The Nightchurch Pianist’ and an Ale Festival Quiz.
“We’re also going to have garden games, apple bobbing and Smite – Cornwall’s answer to boules!” said Sally. “There’ll be a lovely family atmosphere and community spirit, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone here for a bank holiday weekend to remember. And let’s not forget about the view overlooking Crantock beach which never fails to take your breath away.”

Local Breweries Join the Line-Up
This year’s festival will showcase drinks from some of the region’s most celebrated producers, including:
St Austell Brewery, Sharps Brewery, Atlantic Brewery, Firebrand Brewing, Southwestern Distillery, St Ives Brewery, Skinners Brewery/Goodh Brewing Co, Healeys and Jolly’s Drinks.
Supporting Hospice Care in Cornwall
