Rowing Challenge to Support East Cornwall Search & Rescue Team
On Tuesday, 4th June, two teams of ten rowers from Callywith College will participate in a gruelling relay rowing challenge to support the East Cornwall Search & Rescue Team. The event, held in Temple Reception at the college, aims to cover an impressive distance of 100 kilometres using Concept2 rowers. With only two weeks left until the event, the first-year Uniformed Protective Services students have been rigorously training to ensure they are in peak condition for the challenge.
Ambitious Goals and World Record Aspirations
The teams have set an ambitious goal to complete the 100km challenge within seven hours. They are also aiming to raise over £1,000 in donations to support the essential services provided by the East Cornwall Search & Rescue Team. In addition, they hope to come close to the World Record time for this challenge, which stands at 5 hours, 37 minutes, and 2 seconds.
Join the Effort and Make a Difference
The college community and the public are encouraged to be part of the action and support the students in their endeavour. Donations can be made through a link provided on the Callywith College Facebook page. The college urges everyone to like, follow, and share their posts to raise awareness and maximise support.
