Reuse Shops Now Open in Truro and St Austell Recycling Centres

Published On: 15 October 2024Last Updated: 15 October 2024By

Reuse shops have officially opened at Truro and St Austell Household Waste and Recycling Centres (HWRCs), offering a variety of pre-loved items for sale. Run by SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK on behalf of Cornwall Council, these shops aim to make reuse accessible, while also helping to reduce waste.

Affordable Items for Sale

The Kernow Reuse Shops stock a range of affordable items, including home and garden accessories, small electricals, sports equipment, books, DVDs, and much more. Visitors can browse through skateboards, unused picture frames, and various kitchen accessories at the Truro HWRC shop.

Future Expansion

A third reuse shop is set to open soon at United Downs HWRC, with plans to expand to the majority of Cornwall’s HWRCs by the end of 2025. The shops are open from 9am to 4pm, seven days a week.

Donate to Reuse

Cornwall residents can also donate sellable items at any of the HWRCs. Donated goods are either sold in the reuse shops or passed on to charity organisations, ensuring that perfectly usable items find new homes instead of ending up in landfill.
