Cornwall Council has announced that they are distributing the new rubbish bins to all residents of South East Cornwall, promising enhanced waste management services across the region. From now until the end of March, households in areas including Liskeard, Polruan, Polperro, Looe, Torpoint, Saltash, Callington, Pensilva, and their surrounding areas will receive new bins.
Residents are assured of the convenience of this rollout, with the council stating there is no need for them to be home for the delivery. The new bins will be placed directly outside their doorsteps, ensuring everyone has access to their new waste disposal containers.
However, the council has advised against the immediate use of these new bins. The official start date for utilising the bins will be communicated to the residents just before the new collection schedules commence in April. Until then, the council urges residents to continue with their existing rubbish bin and recycling practices, using their current bins along with the coloured recycling bags and boxes provided for different materials.
If you live in a flat or shared accommodation, you’ll get different bins suited to your collection arrangements.
The council has also provided resources for residents seeking more information on recycling and waste management within Cornwall. By visiting their website https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/wastechanges
This initiative is part of Cornwall Council’s ongoing efforts to streamline waste management and recycling processes across the county, aiming to make these services more efficient and accessible for all residents.
