Don’t Miss It: Your Chance to Learn About Cornwall’s Nature Recovery Strategy
Join the LIVE Q&A Session on December 9th
Residents, farmers, businesses, and landowners are invited to a live online question-and-answer session on Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly’s ambitious Nature Recovery Strategy. The event, hosted by Cornwall Council, will take place on Facebook Live on December 9th at 6pm.
This interactive session offers participants the opportunity to ask questions directly to a panel of experts and learn more about plans to restore nature across the region. The session is part of the ongoing public consultation for the strategy, which launched last month and has been developed in collaboration with the Local Nature Partnership, the Council of the Isles of Scilly, and the Isles of Scilly National Landscape partnership.
Meet the Panel
On the Facebook Live panel will be:
- Martyn Alvey, Cornwall Council’s cabinet member for environment and climate change
- Philippa Hoskin, Cornwall Council’s nature recovery manager
- Martin Howlett, Local Nature Partnership member and chair of the Tamar Valley National Landscape Partnership
- Hattie Severinsen, National Farmers’ Union South West’s environment and land use adviser
- Duncan Anderson-Margetts, Country Land and Business Association’s regional adviser
- Marcus Rhodes, Post Doctorate Researcher in Ecology and Conservation, University of Exeter
What to Expect
Councillor Martyn Alvey said,
“Thank you to all of you who have already helped shape our Nature Recovery Strategy and to those of you have told us what you think about the opportunities and challenges for the vital task of restoring nature across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
“The Facebook Live event is a chance for you to ask questions directly of the panel so you can find out more about why the Nature Recovery Strategy is crucial to us fulfilling our goal for 30% of our land and rivers to be well managed for nature by 2030.”
Participants can follow the discussion on Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube. Questions can be submitted in advance or during the live session. To ensure you don’t miss out, click the ‘get reminder’ button on the Facebook event page.
