Cornwall Council Announces New Waste Collection Schedule for West Cornwall

Cornwall Council has announced that West Cornwall’s new rubbish service will start in July.

Starting in July, residents of West Cornwall, including the areas of Penzance, Marazion, Sennen, St Buryan, St Just, St Ives, Hayle, Helston, the Lizard, and their surrounding areas, will experience a shift in how waste and recycling are collected.

The council will introduce weekly food waste collections and fortnightly rubbish collections across Cornwall area by area.

If you live in any of these areas, keep an eye out for the ‘Get Ready’ leaflet, which is being delivered to your door in the coming days. This handy leaflet has all the information you need about the new containers you’ll be receiving and how to recycle your food waste.

As Cornwall moves forward with these changes, the council encourages all residents to participate actively in the new waste collection schedule. By doing so, the community can play a significant role in reducing waste and promoting sustainability across the region. More information can be found on Cornwall Councils website.
