Falmouth Marine Students Step In to Rescue Age UK Fish Tank

A team of students from Falmouth Marine School have restored a fish tank at Age UK Falmouth, bringing joy to the local community. Their work has demonstrated their commitment to both marine science and community support.

Swift Response to a Fish Tank Problem

When a problem arose with the fish tank at Age UK Falmouth, the students quickly stepped in to assess and address the issue. Using their marine science expertise, they cleaned and maintained the tank while setting up a temporary solution to ensure the fish remained healthy while a new tank was being sourced.

Student-Led Restoration

Four students – Ivy Tristram, Joel Needham, Emily Macpherson, and Lakisha Young – worked on the restoration, ensuring the welfare of the fish. They even revisited the centre to check up on the tank’s progress, showcasing the practical skills they’ve developed at Falmouth Marine School.

Positive Impact on the Community

The care shown by the students has been well received by Age UK Falmouth staff and visitors. The fish tank, a much-loved feature of the community centre, is now fully restored and continues to provide comfort and enjoyment to all.
