Cornwall Blood Bikes to Celebrate 10 Years of Life-Saving Service – Here’s How You Can Join In

Cornwall Blood Bikes is gearing up for a special celebration to mark a decade since its rebranding, inviting the community to join them on Sunday, 6th April, at the Royal Cornwall Pavilion Centre in Wadebridge.

A Decade of Dedication

Originally founded as Cornwall Freewheelers EVS in 2011, the charity rebranded to Cornwall Blood Bikes in 2015, with a launch event on 6th April of that year. Since then, volunteers have worked tirelessly to transport urgent medical supplies between hospitals, hospices, and healthcare providers across the county.

Reflecting on their journey, Cornwall Blood Bikes described their growth as a road of “challenges, successes, ultimate highs and some heartbreaking lows.” Despite these, they continue to serve Cornwall with unwavering commitment.

Open Day Celebration

To mark this milestone, Cornwall Blood Bikes is hosting a special open celebration day in collaboration with Art of Weddings & Eeek, running from 12:30pm to 5:00pm at the Royal Cornwall Pavilion Centre.

The event promises:

• Live music and entertainment
• Refreshments and special surprises
• A chance to meet volunteers and see the bikes up close

Special Guests

Adding to the festivities, Cornwall Air Ambulance and Cornwall Hospice Care will be joining the celebrations.

With support from SkyBar and Absolute Canvas, the event is set to be a fun-filled day for all ages, offering a chance to recognise the efforts of the dedicated volunteers and the community that has supported them over the years.
