Passenger Numbers Soar: Newquay Airport Sees 11% Rise as Alicante Flights Near 90% Full

Cornwall Airport Newquay has shared its latest stats for March 2025 – and there’s plenty to shout about.

Busy skies and bustling terminals

The airport welcomed an impressive 23,630 passengers through its doors last month, with 1,766 movements recorded in the skies above Newquay. That’s an 11% increase compared to March last year, giving the Air Traffic Control team plenty to keep them on their toes.

Alicante route nearly full

One standout performer was the Ryanair route to Alicante, which saw load factors nearing 90%. With demand soaring, the route is clearly proving popular with passengers looking for a bit of Spanish sunshine.

Spotlight on the Isles of Scilly

Cornwall Airport Newquay has crowned the Isles of Scilly as its “destination of the month” after welcoming back Isles of Scilly Travel for their 33rd season. The airline is now operating three daily flights (excluding Sundays), offering more chances than ever to visit the islands.
