Newquay Set for £30m Marriott Hotel Investment at Cornwall Airport
Cornwall Airport Newquay is set to welcome a Courtyard by Marriott hotel as part of a multi-million-pound investment deal agreed by Cornwall Council.
Major Investment and Job Creation
The agreement will see up to £30 million invested into the development, bringing 30 full-time equivalent jobs to the area. The new hotel is expected to provide accommodation for airport passengers, visitors to Newquay, and travellers across Cornwall.
Described as a world-renowned hotel, leisure, and business complex, the project will complement Newquay’s existing hospitality offerings.
Part of Wider Development Plans
Cornwall Council has been actively seeking private sector interest in land around the airport, and this agreement marks the first of several development proposals expected in the future.
Cllr David Harris, Cornwall Council’s Deputy Leader and portfolio holder for resources, welcomed the deal, saying:
“I am really pleased to be able to announce this agreement has been reached. It is just one small step among the wider plans to make better use of the airport estate where we continue to discuss opportunities with our preferred partner moving forwards.”
Next Steps
With legal agreements set to be finalised in the coming weeks, a planning application is expected to be submitted later this year.
This latest investment signals a strong push towards expanding business opportunities around Cornwall Airport Newquay, reinforcing its role as a key gateway to the region.
