In an uplifting blend of local culture and community support, Cornwall Air Ambulance is set to benefit from the release of a unique musical compilation.

Titled ‘Voices of Cornwall volume III – en-sol’, which translates to ‘arise’ in Cornish, the album is a celebration of Cornwall’s vibrant music scene, featuring an eclectic mix of contemporary musicians and artists with Cornish ties.

A Cultural Revolution in Aid of a Vital Service

Curated by Richard Stever from Newlyn, the album embodies what he describes as the current “Cornish cultural revolution” in music, photography, and art. This third instalment in the ‘Voices of Cornwall’ series aims not only to showcase the region’s artistic talent but also to provide substantial support to Cornwall Air Ambulance. With no direct government funding and over £7 million needed annually to operate, the charity relies on donations and fundraising efforts to continue its mission of saving lives.

The album spans a diverse range of genres across 19 tracks, each contributing to a compelling auditory journey through Cornwall’s contemporary musical landscape. From folk to rock and beyond, ‘en-sol’ promises to be a testament to the creativity and community spirit that thrives within the county.

A History of Giving

Richard’s initiative has a proven track record of success, with the previous two volumes of ‘Voices of Cornwall’ raising close to £18,000 for various charities. This year, the focus is on aiding the Cornwall Air Ambulance, a cause close to Richard’s heart. He expresses admiration for the charity’s professionalism and the crucial role it plays in the community, especially as the service welcomes a second helicopter to its fleet.

Launch Event and How to Support

The official launch of ‘Voices of Cornwall ‘en sol” is scheduled for 17th July, accompanied by a live performance at the Acorn Theatre in Penzance. This event not only marks the release of the album but also celebrates the collective effort of the artists and organisers in supporting a vital local service.

For those looking to support Cornwall Air Ambulance and enjoy the talents of Cornish musicians, the album can be purchased through the Cornwall Air Ambulance website. All proceeds from the sales will directly benefit the charity, ensuring that the air ambulance can continue its lifesaving missions across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

In a time when community support is more important than ever, ‘Voices of Cornwall volume III’ stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when art and altruism come together.
