Lewie Cole Reunites with Cornwall Air Ambulance Heroes Who Saved His Life

In a moment of deep gratitude, Lewie Cole and his twin brother, Logan, recently visited Cornwall Air Ambulance to thank the crew who saved Lewie’s life a year ago. They met with Critical Care Paramedics Steve and Pete, who were instrumental in treating Lewie after his harrowing fall from a clifftop in Bude.

The Terrifying Accident

Lewie’s accident occurred when he fell 15 feet from a cliff into a secluded cove, resulting in severe injuries, including a punctured lung, a severed artery, and damage to multiple organs. The complex rescue involved a multi-agency response, with the Coastguard Search & Rescue helicopter locating Lewie and airlifting him to safety.

The Life-Saving Rescue

Once secured, Lewie was treated on the scene by Steve and Pete, who stabilised his numerous injuries before airlifting him to Derriford Hospital. Lewie spent six weeks in the hospital, undergoing multiple surgeries and a lengthy recovery process. His survival was a testament to the swift actions of the emergency services.

A year after the incident, Lewie’s visit to Cornwall Air Ambulance was a powerful reminder of the vital role emergency services play in life-or-death situations.
