Roseland Academy Students Celebrate GCSE Results
The Roseland Academy was abuzz with celebration today as Year 11 students received their long-awaited GCSE results. This year’s cohort has not only met but exceeded expectations, marking yet another successful year for the school.
A Cohort of Resilience
The 2024 cohort, the first to sit pre-pandemic style exams with no adjustments and grade boundaries aligned with 2019, demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination. These students began their secondary education during an unprecedented time, and despite the challenges, their hard work and dedication have paid off.
Headteacher Richard Clarke commended the students for their exceptional performance. “This year’s cohort was the first to face pre-pandemic exams with no adjustments and grade boundaries aligned with 2019. Their dedication and commitment throughout Year 11 have been exemplary, making them outstanding role models for the younger students. Their success is a result of the unwavering effort from each individual, supported by the continuous dedication of our staff at The Roseland Academy.”
Exceptional Achievements
Among the standout students were Tremayne, Maisie, Oscar, Luke, Sam, Matthew, Kyane, Ella, Jude, and Lochlain. Collectively, they achieved over thirty GCSE Grade 9s, BTEC Distinction Stars, and Distinctions, as well as more than thirty Grade 8s. These achievements highlight the extraordinary efforts of these individuals in what has been a challenging academic journey.
Emma Atkins-Gammons, the Learning Leader for Year 11, expressed her pride in the students’ accomplishments. “This year’s cohort have overcome incredible challenges from the start of their secondary education. They’ve shown resilience and determination to succeed, with many students putting in exceptional effort earning them the grades they deserved. The results they have achieved will enable them to pursue the courses they desire in the next stage of their education, and I wish every one of them luck for the future.”
Looking Ahead
As the Roseland Academy bids farewell to the Class of 2024, the students can look forward to the next chapter in their lives, whether it be further education, apprenticeships, or entering the workforce. Mr. Clarke added, “It’s wonderful to see so many pleased and excited young people, especially as many students have done even better than they expected. They should all feel very proud of themselves, just as everyone on the staff at The Roseland Academy is proud of them.”
In closing, the school extended its best wishes to all the students as they embark on their future endeavours. With the remainder of the summer still ahead, the Roseland Academy hopes its students enjoy a well-deserved break before taking on new challenges.
This year’s GCSE results at Roseland Academy serve as a testament to the hard work, resilience, and dedication of the Class of 2024. Their achievements will undoubtedly inspire future cohorts to aim high and strive for success.
