Over 20,000 Schoolchildren Explore Cornwall’s Historic Sites Thanks to Transport Grants

Since 2014, over 20,000 schoolchildren have experienced Cornwall’s ancient sites, museums, and historic places, all thanks to a transport grant scheme by Cornwall Heritage Trust.

Educational Adventures Supported by Grants

The School Transport Grants have been a game-changer for schools across Cornwall, enabling pupils to explore the county’s rich heritage. Last term alone, pupils enjoyed several exciting visits, bringing history to life through direct experiences at important sites.

As the new academic year begins, the Trust is excited to see what adventures await this autumn. The rising cost of petrol and vehicle hire has been an increasing concern for schools, potentially limiting these trips, but this financial support ensures that transport costs are covered.

Partnership with Cornish Lithium

A key partner in making these grants possible is Cornish Lithium. Their support plays a crucial role in keeping the programme running, helping schools to afford transport for these vital educational experiences. The financial help provided ensures that transport remains accessible, allowing learning outside the classroom to continue without obstacles.

Thanks to this scheme, transport will never be a barrier to experiencing Cornwall’s unique heritage.
