CSIA Celebrates 100% Pass Rate for 10th Consecutive Year

Students at Camborne Science and International Academy (CSIA) are celebrating today after achieving remarkable A-Level results, marking a decade of success with a 100% pass rate. This year’s cohort has outdone themselves, with an impressive 42% of grades awarded at the coveted A*-A level, reflecting the school’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence.

Outstanding Results in Challenging Times

The Class of 2024 received their results surrounded by supportive friends, family, and teachers at the school’s campus. Principal Emma Haase expressed her delight, praising the students’ dedication and the staff’s unwavering support over the past two years. “These results reflect two years of hard work and determination from both students and staff, who have worked tirelessly to achieve the best possible results,” she said.

Emma added, “We wish all of our students every success wherever they decide to take their next steps, be it in further education or venturing into the world of employment, and look forward to seeing how they utilise the skills they have learned during their time within the CSIA family.”

Top Achievers Head to Prestigious Universities

Among the school’s top performers, Ellie Hindson achieved four A* grades in Chemistry, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics, along with an A in her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Ellie is set to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge University. She expressed her excitement, saying, “I’m very pleased with my results. I’m going to Cambridge to study Natural Sciences. I enjoyed studying at CSMS; there were so many amazing opportunities, like going to Malaysia.”

Another standout student, Zoe McGuire, secured four A* grades in Computer Science, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics. Zoe will be heading to Oxford University to study Mathematics and Computer Science. Reflecting on her success, Zoe shared, “I’m happy with my results. I wasn’t expecting to do this well. I’m going to Oxford to study Mathematics and Computer Science. My teachers, Mr. Reece and Mr. Chapman, really helped me achieve these results.”

Maya Dennis also shone brightly, achieving three A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics, alongside an A in her EPQ. Maya has secured a place at Oxford University to study Biochemistry, with a focus on Molecular and Cellular studies. She commented, “I’m happy with my results and relieved that the work I put in has paid off. CSMS created the environment and high expectations for me to do well.”

Broad Range of Success Stories

The school’s success stories don’t end there. Sam Potter is heading to Durham University to study Natural Sciences after earning three A* grades in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics, as well as an A in Further Mathematics and Physics. Similarly, Seb Parkin will be pursuing Veterinary Medicine at Liverpool University after achieving three A grades in Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, plus an A* in his EPQ.

Other notable achievers include Freya Gillison, who is set to study Medicine at Cardiff University after securing an A* in Biology and two A grades in Chemistry and Mathematics, along with an A* in her EPQ. Meanwhile, Oliver Honeybone will be studying Mathematics at Warwick University, having achieved three A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics.

Jamie Gore, who also secured three A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics, will be attending Bath University to study Mathematics. George Springhall will be heading to Exeter University to study Physics, with a study abroad option, after achieving four A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and EPQ, along with an A in Geography.

A Bright Future for CSIA Graduates

The achievements of the Class of 2024 highlight the exceptional opportunities available to students at CSIA. From Ellie Hindson and Zoe McGuire to Sam Potter and Freya Gillison, these young scholars are taking their talents to some of the most prestigious universities in the country.

As the school reflects on another successful year, The VI Form Academy’s Oliver Kirkbride emphasised the ongoing commitment to excellence. “We’re really proud of our students’ achievements, and pleased that yet again, we have improved results across the board. We have seen an increase of 12% in our top results, building on what was already outstanding.”

With the next academic year on the horizon, CSIA looks forward to welcoming a new cohort of students, continuing their tradition of excellence and striving for even greater accomplishments. For now, the focus is on celebrating the hard work and success of this year’s graduates, who have done the school and their community proud.
