Penrice Academy has been rated Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted, marking a significant milestone for the school and its community. The inspection recognised the academy’s excellence in Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, and Leadership and Management, reflecting the dedication of students, staff, and families.

A Commitment to Excellence

The academy’s success is built on high expectations, inclusion, and aspiration, with students excelling under a well-structured curriculum and outstanding teaching. The Ofsted report highlighted the school’s ability to raise aspirations for all pupils, particularly those with SEND and from disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive.

A Community Effort

This achievement is not just a win for the school but for the entire community. The support of parents, carers, and local organisations has been key in shaping an environment where students feel valued and inspired.

Head of School Tanya Coleman expressed gratitude for the community’s role in the school’s success:

“This achievement is not just for Penrice Academy but for everyone who has supported us, our families, staff, and community partners. Your trust, encouragement, and involvement have been instrumental in our success. Together, we have created a school where every child can thrive, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you.”

Executive Headteacher Lucy Gambier credited students for their contribution:

“Our students embody the values of Penrice Academy every day. Their commitment to their education, their kindness to one another, and their dedication to personal development are what make this school such a special place. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and their role in creating an inclusive, aspirational learning environment.”

The Future of Penrice Academy

Cornwall Education Learning Trust CEO Dan Morrow praised the academy’s impact:

“Penrice Academy’s success is a reflection of its care and commitment to educational excellence and social equity. The hard work of staff and students, combined with the invaluable support from parents and the wider community, has resulted in a school that not only achieves outstanding outcomes but also nurtures young people who are ready to make a positive impact in the world.”

Despite the outstanding rating, the academy remains focused on further improvement, aiming to expand opportunities and strengthen community partnerships to provide students with an exemplary education.

For the students, staff, and families of Penrice Academy, this achievement is a moment of pride—one that belongs to everyone who has contributed to the school’s success.
