Calling all 11-18-year-olds in Cornwall! An exciting new project titled “Fougu, Me, and Mosaic: A Tapestry of Heritage” invites local teens to embark on a creative journey to explore Cornwall’s rich history and heritage.

Visit the Mystical Halliggye Fogou

The adventure begins on Friday, 16 August, from 11 am to 3:30 pm. Participants will gather at The Ladder in Redruth before heading to the mystical Halliggye Fogou. This historical site offers a unique opportunity for young people to immerse themselves in Cornwall’s ancient past and reflect on what heritage means to them.

Get Creative with a Ceramic Mosaic

On Saturday, 17 August, from 12 pm to 3 pm, the project continues at Red Ceramics in Redruth. Here, teens will channel their inspirations from the Fogou visit into creating a ceramic mosaic. This artwork will be permanently displayed at The Ladder, providing a lasting legacy of their creative contributions.

Guided by Talented Artists

The project will be guided by writer, artist, and workshop leader Olivia Lowry, alongside professional artist Sarah Sullivan from Red Ceramics. Their expertise and enthusiasm will help participants bring their artistic visions to life.

No Experience Needed – Just Enthusiasm!

No prior art experience is necessary to join. The only requirement is enthusiasm and a willingness to explore and express the rich heritage of Cornwall.
