Free Swim School Open Day in St Ives – Try a Lesson for Free!

A free swim school open day is set to take place at St Ives Leisure Centre on Saturday 15th March, giving both children and adults the chance to experience swimming lessons at no cost.

Taster Sessions for All Ages

The event, run by GLL under the Better brand, offers a range of sessions:

• Foundation-level tasters for children aged 4 years and over at 9am and 10am.
• A pre-school session for children aged 3-5 years old at 9.30am.
• A distance session for current swim school customers from 10.30am.
• An adult taster lesson, also starting at 10.30am.

Children attending the event can also enjoy a bouncy castle from 10am.

A Chance to Learn a Vital Life Skill

“With summer fast approaching and miles of beaches to enjoy, this is a great opportunity for children and adults to see what lessons are like, for free,” said Natallie Ashton, GLL’s Area Swim School Lead.

“Knowing how to swim and stay safe in the water is a vital life skill – especially in an area like ours, with so much beautiful coastline. Christina and her Saturday teaching team are excellent, and we hope as many people as possible will take advantage of this offer and come along.

“It promises to be both fun and productive.”

The not-for-profit social enterprise GLL operates St Ives Leisure Centre on behalf of Cornwall Council.
