Discover Free Family Fun at Cornwall’s Leisure Centres This Summer

GLL leisure centres throughout Cornwall are offering an action-packed start to the summer holidays with free open days on the weekend of 20th and 21st July.

These open days will feature a variety of taster sessions that are open to everyone, setting the stage for a summer filled with engaging activities.

Free Taster Sessions and Open Days

The two-day event promises a range of activities suitable for all ages. Visitors can try out trampolining, explore soft play areas, enjoy a variety of swimming sessions, participate in aqua splash fun, and even get a taste of gym workouts. These open days offer a fantastic opportunity to try something new without any cost.

Karen Edmond, GLL’s Community Sport Manager, highlighted the importance of these open days. “Each of our centres has its own open day and summer holiday programme so there are plenty of options to choose from,” she said. Karen emphasised that the open day weekend is perfect for families looking to keep their children entertained during the school holidays, regardless of the weather.

Affordable and Accessible Summer Fun

Following the open days, the leisure centres will continue to offer affordable activities throughout the summer. Children can swim for just £1 at various times of the day, making it easy for families to enjoy a refreshing dip without breaking the bank. Additionally, GLL is participating in Active Cornwall’s fully funded Time2Move Holiday Programme, which provides free activities for eligible children aged 5-16 years.
