Cornwall College Group Leads in Education and Training Results in Cornwall
Cornwall College Group (TCCG) has emerged as the leading Further Education (FE) college for education and training in Cornwall, spotlighted by the latest figures released by the Department for Education (DfE).
The data, capturing student achievement across a range of qualifications for both 16- to 18-year-olds and adults, places TCCG at the forefront of educational achievement in the region.
Commendation from the Top
John Evans, the Principal and Chief Executive of TCCG, expressed his delight over the college’s performance, attributing it to the “fantastic efforts of our learners and staff.” John’s statement underscored the significance of this recognition, stating, “Being recognised as the top FE College for Education and Training in Cornwall for learners of all ages is a clear reflection of our unwavering commitment to exceptional quality in the classroom and in the workplace.”
An Inclusive and Exceptional Experience
John further highlighted the inclusive nature of TCCG, which is known as the ‘Career College’. He emphasized the institution’s dedication to providing an educational experience that is both inclusive and exceptional, catering to individuals at various stages of their career. This approach ensures that every learner, regardless of their age or career stage, has the opportunity to thrive under TCCG’s tutelage.
A Year of Significant Achievements
This announcement is a continuation of TCCG’s impressive performance, following closely on the heels of the ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted received a year prior. John remarked on the transformation experienced by the Group over the last five years, describing it as “phenomenal.” He believes that the latest data from the DfE is “another perception changing moment” that evidences the exceptional learning experience and enhanced career opportunities available to learners at TCCG.
Outstanding Apprenticeship Data
TCCG has also reported remarkable success in its apprenticeship programmes, with an achievement rate that stands 7.7% above the national average. This accomplishment is particularly noteworthy, given the Group’s expansive reach, educating around 13,000 learners annually across its ten campuses in Cornwall and Devon.
A Hub of Learning Opportunities
With a diverse range of campuses including Cornwall College Camborne and St Austell, Duchy College Rosewarne and Stoke Climsland, Bicton College, Plymouth Engineering Skills Centre, Falmouth Marine School, and University Centres in Newquay, at the Eden Project, and St Mellion, TCCG is the largest FE provider in the region. This extensive network underlines TCCG’s role in delivering quality education and training across a broad spectrum of disciplines.
