Charity, sunshine, and a roast to remember

Last summer’s Provincial Hog Roast was more than just a social event for the Royal Arch Masons of Cornwall – it was a celebration of community spirit and giving back.

Held in the summer sunshine, the annual gathering brought together Royal Arch Masons and their guests for a hearty afternoon of food, entertainment, and fundraising. The centrepiece of the event was the traditional hog roast, served alongside a generous helping of fellowship and fundraising efforts.

Donation to Merlin Therapy Centre

Among the outcomes of the event was a £500 donation to the Merlin Therapy Centre – a mid-Cornwall organisation that supports people with long-term neurological conditions. The Centre provides therapies such as hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, and counselling, helping to improve both physical and mental well-being.

In recognition of the charity’s work, the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, Excellent Companion Jonathan Arnold, presented the cheque on behalf of the Royal Arch Masons of Cornwall.

“It is always a pleasure to support such a worthy cause,” said Jonathan. “The Merlin Therapy Centre plays a crucial role in the lives of so many, and we are proud to contribute in any way we can.”

Next event already planned

Following the success of last year’s event, plans are already underway for this summer’s Provincial Hog Roast. It will take place on Sunday, 13th July at Sticker Scout HQ, promising another day of good food, laughter, and fundraising.

The Royal Arch Masons of Cornwall remain committed to supporting local organisations like the Merlin Therapy Centre, continuing their tradition of service and generosity in the community.
