Urgent Call for Sleeping Bag Donations as Temperatures Drop in Cornwall

Published On: 14 November 2024Last Updated: 14 November 2024By

As winter sets in, Cornwall’s St Petrocs has put out an urgent request for sleeping bag donations to support people struggling to stay warm while sleeping outside. With the drop in temperatures, those affected by homelessness are finding it harder to stay warm, making sleeping bags an essential resource for enduring the harsh weather. According to St Petrocs, sleeping bags are a critical item that helps their clients remain warm, dry, and protected from the winter conditions.

Growing Need for Donations

St Petrocs has shared that their stock of sleeping bags is running low, urging members of the community to contribute either new or second-hand sleeping bags to aid those in need. Donations can be dropped off at two of their resource centres, which offer convenient weekday and Saturday hours.

Where to Donate

Cornwall residents looking to help can bring their sleeping bag donations to the following locations:

  • Truro Resource Centre: 8 City Road, Truro, TR1 2JJ
  • Breadline Centre: Bread Street, Penzance, TR18 2EQ

The centres are open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays and from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Saturdays.

St Petrocs has expressed heartfelt gratitude for any contributions that can be made to support those facing homelessness this winter. For further details or to support their work, visit their website.
