Trevaskis Farm Marks 40 Years of Supporting Cornwall Hospice Care
Customers have quietly been supporting end of life care in Cornwall for over 40 years
As Cornwall Hospice Care celebrates 45 years of providing expert, compassionate care, one family-run farm is marking its own major milestone.
Trevaskis Farm, near Hayle, has now been supporting adult hospice care in Cornwall for more than four decades. The farm has raised over £40,000 for the charity through an unusual but much-loved feature: the “Sin Bin”.
The ‘Sin Bin’ That’s Made a Big Difference
The Sin Bin is a donation box that invites Pick Your Own customers to pay for any fruit they eat while picking. It’s a simple idea with powerful results, dreamt up by the Eustice family over 40 years ago.
Serena Eustice, Director of Trevaskis Farm, said:
“We are proud to have supported Cornwall Hospice Care for so many years inviting our Pick Your Own customers to pay for the fruit they have eaten via the ‘Sin Bin’ invented by our father over 40 years ago. The incredible work of this charity is close to our hearts. We lost Dad in 2016 to cancer and we know St Julia’s Hospice has touched the lives of so many of our customers too. We look forward to raising as much as possible in the years to come to support this much needed end of life care.”
A Lasting Local Partnership
The money raised by Trevaskis Farm and its visitors over the years has helped fund vital services and support for people with terminal illnesses at both St Julia’s Hospice and Mount Edgcumbe Hospice.
Erica Vitai, Relationships Partner at Cornwall Hospice Care, said:
“We cannot thank the team at Trevaskis Farm enough for their incredible, long-standing support and we’re excited to work with them for many years in the future. We love the farm’s out of the box thinking to raise much needed funds for our hospices, and that it has stood the test of time.”
Pick Your Own and Support Local Hospice Care
As the summer season peaks, Trevaskis Farm is bursting with a bumper crop of fruit and vegetables ready to pick. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the fields and, if they’re feeling peckish, pop something in the Sin Bin to support Cornwall Hospice Care.
