Saint’s Way Trek Returns For 2025 : Choose Your Adventure for Cornwall Hospice Care!

Published On: 20 October 2024Last Updated: 20 October 2024By

Cornwall Hospice Care is excited to announce the return of The Saint’s Way Trek for its fourth year, taking place on the 21st and 22nd of June 2025. This popular Cornish event invites participants to embark on a memorable journey across the historic Saint’s Way while raising funds for vital hospice services. Whether you’re trekking to honour loved ones or just looking for a challenge, this year’s event offers something for everyone.

What’s New for 2025?

For the first time, Cornwall Hospice Care is introducing two new options alongside their classic two-day trek:

  • Ultra One-Day Through-Trek: For those seeking an extra challenge, participants can now complete the entire 30-mile trek in just one day on Saturday 21st June.
  • Saint’s Way Half: A 13.5-mile trek on Sunday 22nd June, perfect for those who want to experience part of the journey by joining the two-day trekkers from Lanivet to Fowey.

Both options offer the chance to experience the natural beauty of Cornwall while making a real difference to the care provided by Cornwall Hospice Care. You can find all the details and sign up for your preferred option here.

Classic Two-Day Trek with Camping

The two-day trek covers 30 miles over the course of the weekend, beginning at Padstow Church on Saturday morning. Trekkers will set off towards St. Breock and the famous monolith, before reaching Mena Farm Campsite, where a night under the summer solstice sky awaits.

After enjoying a meal from one of the local food vans or village pubs, participants will gather around the campfire to share stories and enjoy a well-deserved rest. Breakfast will be provided before starting the second leg of the trek, which includes the breathtaking views from Helman Tor and a final stretch along the River Fowey to Readymoney Cove, where every finisher will be rewarded with a medal.

Ultra One-Day Trek

For those up to the challenge, the one-day trek covers the entire 30 miles in one go. Starting early on Saturday, participants will enjoy scenic views across Cornwall, from Padstow Church through Withiel and Lanivet, before making their way to the heights of Helman Tor and finishing at Readymoney Cove in Fowey.

Cornwall Hospice Care advises that this trek is for the more experienced walkers, and training is highly recommended.

Saint’s Way Half

If you prefer a shorter challenge, the Saint’s Way Half allows participants to walk the second half of the route, starting from Lanivet on Sunday morning. This trek takes in the rugged beauty of Helman Tor before heading through the village of Golant and finishing at Readymoney Cove.

All trekkers will have access to food, water, and snacks at checkpoints, and transportation will be provided between key locations, including shuttle buses from St. Austell to the start points.

Support Cornwall Hospice Care

By taking part in the Saint’s Way Trek, you’ll be raising funds for the essential care provided at Cornwall Hospice Care’s two Cornish hospices in Hayle and St Austell. This care offers support and comfort to those facing terminal illnesses, and your fundraising efforts can truly make a difference.

If you’re ready to take on the challenge, sign up here or set up your fundraising page on JustGiving. You can also download sponsor forms for traditional fundraising methods.
