Mark Master Masons Donate £500 to YMCA Cornwall Housing Campaign
£500 Boost from Mark Master Masons
YMCA Cornwall has received a £500 donation from the St John the Baptist Lodge of Mark Master Masons in support of its “Your Help, Their Future” campaign, which aims to build four new flats for young people at risk of homelessness.
Representatives from the Lodge visited the YMCA Cornwall site to hand over the donation, learn more about the campaign and speak with staff about the challenges young people in Cornwall are facing.
Helping Young People at Risk
The campaign hopes to raise £250,000 to complete the build, which will provide safe accommodation for vulnerable young residents. Alongside financial donations, the charity is appealing for support in the form of volunteer labour, trades, building supplies and materials.
Chief Executive Officer Pat Woodfield said:
“We’re incredibly grateful for this generous contribution. Support from organisations like the Mark Master Masons helps us to provide safe accommodation and support to our young people who need it most.”
Derek, from the Lodge, added:
“It was inspiring to see the work being done here at YMCA Cornwall. We’re proud to support a campaign that’s making such a real difference in the lives of young people.”
Backed by Royal Support
The campaign received an early boost from a £70,000 donation from the Duke of Cornwall’s Charitable Foundation. YMCA Cornwall is now calling on the wider community to get behind the project.
