Lappa Valley Raises £1,000 for Cornish Child Bereavement Support Charity
Lappa Valley, a popular family attraction near St Newlyn East, has raised £1,000 for Penhaligon’s Friends, a Cornwall-based charity supporting bereaved children, young people, and their families.
A Longstanding Partnership
Penhaligon’s Friends has been Lappa Valley’s official charity of the year for 2024, marking the third consecutive year of collaboration between the two organisations. The partnership has provided valuable opportunities for bereaved families in Cornwall, combining fundraising efforts with memorable experiences at the attraction.
Teddy Bear Fun Day Raises Funds
Earlier this year, families supported by Penhaligon’s Friends were invited to enjoy the attractions at Lappa Valley, creating cherished memories. This was followed by a Teddy Bear Fun Day in October, where charity volunteers hosted activities for visitors. A significant portion of the day’s admission fees contributed to the £1,000 donation.
Making a Difference
Julie Parker, CEO of Penhaligon’s Friends, expressed gratitude for the continued support from Lappa Valley. “It has been an absolute pleasure to work together with the wonderful team at Lappa Valley this year!
“We will be able to use our donation to provide further opportunities for the bereaved children we support to come together with others with a shared experience and get much needed support.
“The opportunity for some of our families to visit and make memories in the park was a wonderful bonus,” Julie added.
Ben Harding, Operations Director at Lappa Valley, echoed the sentiment. “Thank you so much to everyone who came to support the special day, and help us raise money for a special charity.
“Lappa Valley is a special place where families can make memories together. Therefore, being able to support the incredible and worthwhile work Penhaligon’s Friends perform with local families has been a privilege,” Ben said.
