Devonshire Homes’ Fundraising Success for Cornwall Blood Bikes

Devonshire Homes, a prominent housebuilder in the West Country, has successfully raised over £8,000 for the Cornwall Blood Bikes charity. This remarkable achievement is the result of various fundraising activities carried out since June 2022.

Supporting Cornwall Blood Bikes

Since beginning their support, Devonshire Homes has managed to collect a total of £8,091.50 for Cornwall Blood Bikes. This volunteer-run charity provides an ‘out of hours’ service to NHS partners, delivering essential urgent supplies such as whole blood, pathology samples, medication, medical equipment, medical notes, and donor breast milk to NHS hospitals and hospices throughout Cornwall.

Cornwall Blood Bikes relies solely on donations to maintain their life-saving service. Without any government funding and not charging the NHS for their services, these donations are crucial.

Fundraising Efforts

Devonshire Homes has implemented a unique fundraising strategy. For every open-market house sold from June 2022 to April 2024, the company donates £25 to Cornwall Blood Bikes and another £25 to a similar organisation in Devon. Additionally, last year, Devonshire Homes hosted a charity Golf Day that raised £5,000 for both Blood Bikes charities through entry fees, an auction, and a raffle.

Jayne Penlerick, Chair of Cornwall Blood Bikes, expressed her gratitude, saying, “Devonshire Homes’ support has been simply amazing and every single penny goes towards keeping our wheels turning.”

Corporate Commitment

Jane Pearce, Sales and Marketing Director at Devonshire Homes, shared her thoughts on the fundraising efforts, stating, “We are delighted that we’ve raised over £8,000 for the Cornwall Blood Bikes. The charity is crucial in its role supporting the NHS, which as we all know is under immense pressure. It gives us great pleasure, as a business firmly rooted in the Westcountry, to be able to support Cornwall Blood Bikes in really making a difference and saving lives in our communities.”
