For those experiencing homelessness, basic hygiene can be a daily challenge. St Petrocs, a local charity, is asking the community to step up and help by donating essential toiletries to support those in need.

Donations Needed for Essential Hygiene Items

St Petrocs provides access to shower facilities at their resource centres, stocked with essentials like shampoo, soap, and razors. These items are crucial for maintaining health, dignity, and a sense of wellbeing for people who are struggling to find stable accommodation.

Stephen, the Homelessness Support Coordinator at St Petrocs, emphasised the importance of these donations: “Whilst we work with our clients to support their housing needs, it is important that we maintain their resilience in as many ways as possible. To achieve this, we try and fulfil the basic range of human needs, which includes shower facilities to keep them clean.”

The charity is calling on the community to donate toiletries such as:

• Shampoo and conditioner
• Soap and shower gel
• Razors and shaving cream
• Toothpaste and toothbrushes
