Gemma’s Marathon Fundraising for Cornwall Air Ambulance Gathers Momentum
Following the inspiring story of how a family emergency led Gemma Wotherspoon to take on the challenge of running the London Marathon in support of Cornwall Air Ambulance, her fundraising and training are now in full swing.
Fundraising Progress
Gemma has been busy organising fundraising events and is already making great strides towards her goal of raising £2,000. So far, she has raised an impressive £677, thanks to the generosity of local businesses, kind-hearted strangers, and friends who have donated prizes for her events.

Upcoming Events
Gemma has planned a series of events to boost her fundraising total, including quiz nights and bingo nights in Bodmin:
- Quiz Night for Cornwall Air Ambulance

Hosted by Gemma Wotherspoon and Ash Cole, this quiz night will be a fantastic opportunity for people to test their knowledge while supporting a great cause. View the event details here. - Cornwall Air Ambulance Fundraiser Bingo Night
📅 Thursday, 13th February 2025
📍 The Beat, Bodmin
This event already has 108 people interested and promises to be a fun-filled evening with amazing prizes up for grabs.

Training for the Marathon
Gemma is also fully committed to her training, having already clocked 14 miles and aiming for another 14 miles this weekend. She has taken part in the Storm 10 (10 miles) and Newquay 10K races and has a packed race schedule in March, which includes:
- Looe 10 Miler – Known as “Hillish and Hellish” due to its challenging hills, this race also raises money for Cornwall Air Ambulance.
- Three additional races that will help her prepare for the London Marathon.
