Could Your Charity Claim £50k? New Round of Youth Employment Funding Now Open
£100,000 up for grabs for projects supporting young people into work
Charities across the UK are being invited to apply for two £50,000 grants aimed at helping young people into employment, with applications open from today, Monday 9th June.
The funding comes from the Persimmon Charitable Foundation, which launched a new open application programme in March this year. The programme has an annual pot of £200,000, giving more registered charities the chance to access support.
Who can apply?
The current round is focused on UK-based projects that support employability among 14 to 25-year-olds, particularly those in areas of economic and social deprivation. Applicants must be registered charities and should clearly outline the impact of the funding, including measurable outcomes.
Charities that applied in the first round, whether successful or not, are welcome to apply again.
Anthony Vigor, Chair of the Foundation, said:
“For the second funding round, we are focusing on projects that support employability among 14 to 25-year-olds to attract applications from charities whose objectives align with our own. The successful applicants will be working with young people to support them in their education, or into training or work.”
What happened in round one?
More than 800 applications were submitted in the first round. Two charities were awarded £50,000 each:
-
Thanet Community Development Trust in Kent received funding for its project helping people obtain qualifications to work in construction.
-
Bothwell Futures in South Lanarkshire used the money to fund an employability programme for young people who had disengaged from education or were leaving school without a clear career path.
Deadline and how to apply
Applications must be submitted by 11.59pm on Sunday 22nd June. Successful charities will be informed in August.
