Cornwall Women’s Fund Seeks Support to Aid Women and Girls’ Mental Health in 2024
Cornwall Women’s Fund is calling on the community to bolster their efforts in addressing mental health issues among women and girls.
Recognising the unique challenges faced by this demographic, the Fund has announced its focus for 2024 on funding organisations and projects dedicated to improving mental health for women and girls.
A recent comprehensive study by 60 charities has highlighted the disproportionate risk women and girls face regarding mental health problems, including anxiety, major depression, and eating disorders. The report, titled “A Mentally Healthier Nation,” points to the physical and psychosocial experiences unique to women, such as menarche, pregnancy, and menopause, as significant factors contributing to the development of mental health issues.
In response to these findings, Cornwall Women’s Fund is seeking to expand its giving circle by inviting individuals and local businesses to contribute. Donations can be made monthly, annually, or as one-off gifts, aiming to increase the funds available for grant-making to impactful organisations and projects.
The Fund believes in the power of collective giving to meet the community’s needs and is committed to making a substantial impact on the mental health of women and girls in Cornwall. For those interested in supporting this cause, more information is available on how to join the mission and contribute to the Cornwall Women’s Fund’s efforts.
