Cornwall Gold’s Annual Duck Race is a Quacking Success
Quacking crowds at Cornwall Gold
Over 1,000 people flocked to Cornwall Gold on Bank Holiday Monday for the return of its popular annual Golden Duck Race. Held in partnership with Redruth Rotary Club, the event saw 1,300 golden ducks launched into the Tolgus Stream, raising almost £3,000 for local charities.
The event, which is free to attend, has become a firm favourite for families. Visitors enjoyed live music from Camborne Town Band, a charity raffle, and what organisers described as a “joyful community spirit”.
Racing for a good cause
Each duck entry cost £2, with all funds going towards charities supporting people in need across the region. The strong turnout and sunny weather helped boost donations and make the day a success.
Mike Taylor, Managing Director of Cornwall Gold, said: “The Duck Race has become a cherished tradition at Cornwall Gold. While we’re proud to host the event, it’s the Redruth Rotary Club who truly make it happen through their tireless dedication and hard work. Drawing a crowd of over 1,000 people, our team made sure every guest had a great experience — and the feedback has been fantastic.”
A winning formula
With live entertainment, smiling faces and golden ducks drifting through the stream, the event once again proved why it’s one of Cornwall’s best-loved charity days out. The combination of community support and fundraising made this year’s race one to remember.
