Community Knitters Raise Funds for Cornwall Hospice Care
In a heartwarming show of community spirit and dedication, 31 women gathered last Thursday at the Penmere Manor Hotel in Falmouth for a Sponsored Knit event, benefiting Cornwall Hospice Care. The event successfully raised £2,347, a testament to the participants’ commitment and the generosity of sponsors and donors. The funds were collected through sponsorship pledges, donations, and a raffle held during the event.
The gathering was not just a fundraising effort but also a social one, where everyone involved enjoyed the camaraderie and shared purpose of supporting a noble cause. The knitted pieces created during the event are set to be combined into a small blanket, destined for a patient at the Hospice, adding a personal touch to the support provided by the funds raised.
Cornwall Hospice Care extended its gratitude through a #ThankYouThursday social media post, acknowledging the time, effort, and skill of all those who participated in the Sponsored Knit. This event underscores the community’s commitment to supporting individuals in need and highlights the unique ways in which fundraising can bring people together for a common goal.
