A Day of Fun for a Noble Cause

Set against the backdrop of scenic St Newlyn East, Lappa Valley is gearing up to host a delightfully engaging Teddy Bear Fun Day on Sunday, 22nd September. This family-oriented event isn’t just about having fun with your furry friends; it’s a day dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Penhaligon’s Friends, a charity that plays a crucial role in supporting bereaved children and their families in Cornwall.

Engaging Activities for All

The day promises an array of traditional village fete-style games and activities that are sure to appeal to visitors of all ages. Special highlights include activities specifically designed for teddy bears, encouraging children to bring along their beloved plush companions for a day out. With the park opening its gates for this special occasion, families can expect a wholesome day packed with fun and smiles.

Meet the Mascots

Adding to the charm of the day, the giant Penhaligon’s Friends Bear Mascot will be making regular appearances to entertain and interact with the children. Another furry guest, Fudge, the beloved mascot bear, will also be around to add joy to the festivities. Julie Parker, CEO of Penhaligon’s Friends, expressed her enthusiasm about the day, mentioning, “We have lots of fun activities to bring on the day including our teddy tombola. Watch out for Fudge too!”

Supporting Penhaligon’s Friends

A significant portion of the admission fees on this special day will be directed towards Penhaligon’s Friends, aiding them in their mission to support bereaved families. Visitors will also find collection points throughout the park for additional donations. Julie Parker highlighted the importance of these funds: “Any funds raised on the day will help us to buy more story books and resources that we send out to families, helping them to open conversations about their loss and begin the grieving process.”

Ben Harding, Operations Director at Lappa Valley, shared his pride in supporting the charity, stating, “We’re very proud to support Penhaligon’s Friends as our charity of the year and are looking forward to hosting the special day.”

A Perfect Family Day Out

The Teddy Bear Fun Day at Lappa Valley is more than just a day out; it’s an opportunity to make a difference while making lasting memories. Whether it’s through participating in fun activities, meeting the mascots, or contributing to a noble cause, every visitor can leave with a smile, knowing they’ve contributed to a heartwarming purpose.

Join the fun and make a difference at Lappa Valley’s Teddy Bear Fun Day. It’s a perfect chance to enjoy a day filled with joy, laughter, and community spirit, all while supporting the essential work of Penhaligon’s Friends.
