Over £2,600 raised to help people feel like themselves again after cancer treatment

Allure Beauty, based at the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre in Truro, has raised £2,620 for the cancer support charity Look Good Feel Better following a glamorous and emotional Glitz and Glam night.

The fundraiser, which took place at the Penventon Hotel, brought together 120 guests for a night centred on empowerment, support, and powerful storytelling. The event featured inspirational talks from Andrea Eva and Mary Ellen, who shared their personal experiences with cancer, live music from Duane AJ, a professional makeup masterclass by Charlotte Tilbury artists, and a luxury raffle.

Ticket sales and donations matched by Barclays

Thanks to the generosity of those who attended, the event raised over £1,600 through ticket sales and raffle contributions. This total was boosted by a £1,000 match donation from Barclays, bringing the final amount to £2,620.

Helen Hart, Founder of Allure Beauty, said:

“I’m truly blown away by the incredible support from everyone who attended and donated. Glitz and Glam Night was such a meaningful and memorable evening, and to have raised over £2,600 for Look Good Feel Better is more than I ever imagined. This charity is so close to my heart – through the work we do together, I’ve seen first-hand the amazing difference they make to people’s confidence and wellbeing.”

A celebration of women supporting women

The night was described as a celebration of women lifting each other up, with a strong focus on sharing personal stories and building confidence. The money raised will support the work of Look Good Feel Better, a UK charity that helps people living with cancer manage the physical and emotional impact of treatment through workshops delivered by industry-trained volunteers.

Matt Harrington, Head of Cornwall Innovation Centres, added:

“We’re incredibly proud to have Helen and Allure Beauty as part of our community here at the Innovation Centre. Her passion, energy, and commitment to supporting others is truly inspiring. Raising over £2,600 for such a meaningful cause is a fantastic achievement, and it’s a real testament to the positive impact Helen makes – not just through her business, but in the wider community too.”

Ian Daniels, Fundraising and Communications Director at Look Good Feel Better, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to Helen and the team at Allure Beauty for their phenomenal support. Glitz and Glam Night was not only a brilliant celebration of women lifting each other up, but also a powerful show of community spirit and generosity. The funds raised will directly support our workshops across the UK, helping more people facing cancer to feel like themselves again. On behalf of everyone at Look Good Feel Better – thank you for making such a meaningful difference.”
