168 Years of Support: iSightCornwall Celebrates Historic Milestone
iSightCornwall, Cornwall’s oldest charity, is marking a significant birthday today. The organisation, founded in 1856 by the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society, has been serving the local community for 168 years, initially set up to help miners who lost their sight in accidents.
A Legacy of Service
Having survived two World Wars, iSightCornwall has continued its vital work through the reign of seven monarchs and the terms of 31 Prime Ministers. The charity has a long history of providing support to thousands of people, helping them live life without limitations.

Today, iSightCornwall remains a pillar of the community, continuing to help those with visual impairments. The charity’s remarkable journey has only been possible thanks to the ongoing support of individuals, volunteers, and donors.
