Why Camborne’s Christmas Tree Is Already Being Picked in March
Planning starts early for a sparkling ‘Merry and Bright’ festive season
Christmas may be months away, but preparations are already in full swing behind the scenes in Camborne.
A team from BID Camborne has paid a visit to Tregothnan Estate, near Truro, to hand-pick the town’s Christmas tree for this year’s big switch-on.
A trip to the Christmas tree woodland
Anna Pascoe, BID manager, was joined by BID director Jo Weller and social media manager Chantelle Roberts on a recent trip to the estate, where they were given a tour by Terry Herron, Tregothnan’s Forestry and Woodland Manager.
“Our Christmas planning starts in January each year and getting the tree organised is obviously an essential part of the process,” said Anna.
“This year’s theme is Merry and Bright, and I can safely say the tree we’ve reserved will look fantastic – especially when it’s all dressed up. In the meantime, it will carry on growing until being delivered in November.”
Two festive events in Camborne this year
This year will also see a change in how Camborne celebrates Christmas.
“In a change to recent programming, Camborne will be holding its Children’s Lantern Parade and Christmas Lights Switch-on celebrations on two separate evenings so locals and businesses can benefit from two free, fun and very festive events,” Anna added.
