Trevithick Day Secures Future with Major Council Support – What’s Changing for 2025?
Camborne Town Council has officially strengthened its involvement in Trevithick Day, signing a new Collaboration Agreement last Wednesday (22nd January) to help secure the future of the event. The agreement, signed by Mayor James Ball and Trevithick Day Committee Chair Trevor Brookes, outlines a shift in the council’s role—from financial support to hands-on event delivery.
A New Approach to Supporting Trevithick Day
In previous years, Camborne Town Council provided Trevithick Day CIC with a monetary Community Grant to support the event. However, for 2025, the event’s volunteer organisers requested a more direct form of assistance instead of funding. In response, the council has committed to delivering key health and safety elements such as:
- Road closures
- Stewarding
- Security
- First aid provision
What This Means for 2025’s Event
This agreement ensures Trevithick Day 2025, set for Saturday 26th April, will receive direct operational support from the council. The changes aim to ease the burden on the volunteer-led committee while maintaining the event’s high standards.
Following this year’s event, Camborne Town Council and Trevithick Day CIC will review the process and refine their collaboration further. The goal is to create a sustainable model that guarantees the event’s future for generations to come.
Organisers and the council hope supporters of Trevithick Day will welcome this new approach, ensuring Camborne’s biggest day remains a success for years to come.
