Camborne Science & International Academy (CSIA), part of the Athena Learning Trust, has dominated this term’s Cornwall School’s Show Jumping Competition, held at Pendarves Equestrian Centre and hosted by The Western Pony Club. The academy’s equestrian teams delivered an impressive array of performances across both the novice and open sections, securing top spots in multiple categories.
Outstanding Results in the Open Section
CSIA’s open section riders shone brightly, with Amber clinching victory in the 80/85 cm competition thanks to a lightning-fast jump-off. Grace followed closely behind, earning fifth place with a double clear on her new horse.
The Camborne Red Barons team, made up of Myah, Eden, and Lilia, claimed first place in the team show jumping category. Hot on their heels, the Camborne Red Rebels—featuring Amber, Grace, and Chloe—took second place. Both teams also impressed in the Best Presented category, finishing in first and second place, respectively.
Novice Riders Bring More Trophies
CSIA’s success extended to the novice section. Lexi triumphed in the 60/65 cm competition, demonstrating exceptional skill and composure. The CSIA Red Arrows team—consisting of Olivia, Isla, Evie, and Lexi—secured first place in the show jumping event and third place in the Best Presented category.
The CSIA Red Devils team, comprising Lottie, Thomas, Martha, and Lana, delivered strong performances, with many of the riders competing for CSIA for the first time. Their debut showcased promising talent and determination.
A Day to Remember
Emma Haase, Principal of Camborne Science and International Academy, praised the riders for their exceptional performance:
“The event was a tremendous success for CSIA, with riders conducting themselves impeccably and representing their school with pride. Congratulations to all participants for their hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day.”
