Caught in the Act: Drivers Face Penalties for Speeding on Mount Whistle Road
In a recent operation by the local police, several drivers have been penalised for exceeding the speed limit on Mount Whistle Road.
The Camborne, Pool and Redruth Police took action on 10th April following complaints from the community about vehicles travelling at dangerous speeds through the residential area.
Enforcement Action
Officers equipped with a speed gun set up checks to monitor the speed of vehicles travelling along the road, which has a statutory speed limit of 30mph. The spot checks resulted in four drivers being issued with OSCOs. These penalties were handed out to motorists driving at speeds ranging from 37mph to a concerning 45mph.
Safety Advice
Each driver stopped during the operation was given advice on the importance of adhering to speed limits. The police emphasised that these measures are crucial in ensuring the safety of both pedestrians and other road users.
The action serves as a reminder to all drivers about the consequences of speeding and the vigilant approach taken by local police to enforce traffic laws and protect the community.
